"This was by far one of the most amazing hunts I have ever been on in my life.We had the deer and hog combo hunt. We drove up there with a group of 8. Our trip started out getting there mid day, so our hunt started that evening. The 1st afternoon every single person saw deer. Over the next few days every person in our group got an opportunity to kill a deer or hog, with many of us killing both.. The guides were super knowledgeable and they took us to and from the woods every day putting us in a range of areas from big fields, to hard woods. The stands were all newer and comfortable. The food was absolutely amazing, miss Darlene kept us well fed with real southern cooking. The lodge was big and comfortable and not over crowded. I'm not one to write very many reviews but I would recommend this place to anyone looking to have an amazing hunt."

"I will begin to tell you I was nervous about this hunt. I have never hunted a lodge before and had some concerns with the recent reviews. This was a trip I had decided to take with my daughter to have some good father daughter time. We both luv fishing and hunting. The lodge did not let us down. It was truly an amazing time. My daughter saw deer every day in the stand. Clint did everything in his power to get us on deer. I had a really nice 8 pointer come in, if he had the other half of his rack, but they had already started to shed their racks. The last day I had a really nice buck come in which I took the shot at 173 yards and must have pulled. Cause when I took my riffle back to the range it is still dead on. We found no blood or hair. Plus, Clint took the drone out and scanned the area and found nothing but live does and bucks. So, he gets another year. Every day Darlene cooked amazing meals and there was always plenty of food for everyone. Thanks for making sure she kept a special area out for my food requirements. We didn't get to harvest a deer or hog, but this is why it's called free range hunting. They don't have high fence, and they don't have the deer on leashes that you can just shoot. This is real hunting with some great guides that do their best to make sure you are able to see and harvest a deer in the wild. I have become a member of the lodge and look forward to many more trips."

"I don't have anything bad to say about this place. The whole experience was top notch! Darlene is one hell of a cook and there was always plenty enough for seconds. The food was hands down delicious. Kevin, Clint, Rhett, and Vince will work their tails off to guide you to tagging a trophy. From checking trail cams, playing the wind and always making sure there is fresh feed. They are all very knowledgeable and will answer any question you have. The time and hard work they put in to do everything possible to make sure you're successful is amazing. The lodge was excellent. Very clean and spacious. The bedrooms were clean and simple. Beds were comfy and you also got a towel and washcloth. You go there to hunt, not to lay in bed all day. Having lockers to put all of your hunting equipment in downstairs is another great plus. Even though my group wasn't able to connect with a hog or buck I still left with a smile on my face and plan on going back for early season. If Im not able to swing early season I know for a fact I'll be going back eventually. I saw wildlife in every stand I sat in, I myself had an opportunity at a hog but wasn't able to connect. I can't thank these guys enough for such a great experience. All in all, if you want to meet likeminded genuine people that will work their ass off for you then give them a call. You won't be disappointed!! Great people, great food, great all round experience!"

"I am still on my way home from my hunt and I honestly can't think of anything negative about this experience with the lodge. It was a complete blast. They are a family ran business and it shows because while you're there they treat you the same way. The guides were great and full of information. If you have a question just ask. They will have answer for you. They do everything they can to get you a trophy. Unfortunately my group did not bring anything home but it is a free range hunt. So if you're a true outdoorsman or women and you truly enjoy the "hunt" then this is a place for you to try out. The lodge was very nice. They have lockers for you to hang your gear in and for your boots and weapon of choice. They have a pool table in the downstairs to pass some time and a little hunting game as well to pass sometime. The bedrooms were very simple but I don't require much. I was there to hunt not lay in bed. I sleep with a fan on and my daughter got cold and there was extra blankets so it was a win win. Breakfast was very simple but knowone should expect a gourmet meal at 430 in the morning from anyone. The coffee was hot and the creamer was cold so I was happy! Lunch and dinner was on point every day with plenty there for seconds or thirds! At this point we are trying to make things work with our schedules so we can come back in early season. In my honest opinion if you're looking to pay for a hunt just for the "kill" look elsewhere. But if you want a hunt where you're going to make more friends with likeminded people, be treated like family and have people work their tails off to get you a trophy then give these guys a call you won't be disappointed!"

"I spent several days at the Oconee River Lodge a couple of weeks ago. I saw a ton of deer. It was opening weekend for muzzle loading season so the shooting distance was limited (at least for my muzzle loader). I saw several nice bucks and had it been rifle season I would have had a trophy on the wall. Kevin and Clint are awesome guys - Brandi too ! Food and accommodations were OUTSTANDING. Darlene will make sure you get plenty to eat. Great Southern cooking. Desserts are always awesome if u can hold it. They'll quarter up your game for a very reasonable price too. I have hunted with these guys before in S.C. I sent 36 hunters one year. 6 groups of six. A great group of guys (and gal's) that bust their butts so you can have a great experience. Go see them"

"I recently spent a week at the lodge, 10/2-10/6 hunting 10/3-10/5. The lodge it self was nice. I can tell that there has been recent renovations. I was comfortable there. The meals provided were good. Brandi even made a bag lunch for me since I chose to stay in the stand all day instead of coming in for lunch. She didn't have to do that but was happy to do so. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a buck this time but there are plenty out there. I did see, what turned out to be shooters, just after dark. It was pretty warm during my trip so I think the deer were laying up until dark. Kevin actually gave me an extra day since he had an opening. I appreciated their hospitality and will be back in the future. I had a good time. Thanks."

"Just returned home from my first of what will be many trips to Oconee River Lodge. My trip was from 1/12/23 to 1/15/23. The accommodations at the lodge are awesome! Darlene is an exceptional host, an awesome cook and a great conversationalist. The food was always hot, ready and plentiful after returning from morning and evening hunts (Axis deer sausage dogs were amazing). There were plenty of snacks to choose from too. Guides Clint and Damon's work ethic and experience are second to none. They went above and beyond to put me on hogs and made me feel right at home. They are very passionate about what they do and it really shows. Hunting on the many thousands of acres they have was a real treat. Stands, feeders and food plots were on point. It was really nice to meet good genuine down to earth hard working folks that actually take pride in what they do and make you truly feel like family. "My 15 yr old son and I hunted with Kevin and his staff this season. We had some great sits where we saw deer at ever sit. We did not harvest a buck as our family rule is to shoot one bigger than you did last year but that is hunting. We did see deer at every sit and that is more than I could ask for. By the looks of things, Kevin is putting money into the lodge and stands. Everyone was nice and a little funny too but I guess that's what happens when us northerners come down south. "Had a pretty good time hog hunting with Oconee River Lodge. The facilities are good and the food was excellent. The cook is a very gracious host and went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. The hunting was a little slow. Our guides put us over feeders during the day. The food plots were in excellent shape. The stands we used were approximately 4 x 4 and were clean and well constructed. We did see a ton of deer. I saw 17 in a food plot an hour before sunset with some good shooters. It seemed like the hogs were mostly nocturnal while we were there. We switched up hunting strategies our last day to night hunting. So only 2 of the 4 of my group got a boar. All and all for a first trip out definitely got a good lay of the land. The only negative I'd say was after none of us saw any the first day we should have started hunting that night after dark. This was a positive experience and I will be going back."
